Actually, believe it or not, I know this firsthand. Jack Magic got banned, and when they banned him, there was some kind of error that banned me too! And then I emailed Bruce and everything's ok now, but as the story is told to me, Yes, Jack Magic has been banned. Now, what he did to get banned, I have no idea.

Actually, I would have liked to see Jack Magic get an opportunity to respond to Captain Howdy's "discovery." I fully agree with the "zero tolerance" toward plagiarism policy, but I am curious as to what Jack Magic would have said about everything.

Well plagarizing is not a good idea. In college you got expelled from that stuff. I wonder if Jack Magic is expelled from these forums.

He probably would never respond, because it would be a very stupid thing to do. All of his resumes were clearly copied word for word from other sources, and everyone knows it. He wouldn't be able to defend himself at all.

It is always easy to sit on the sidelines and judge the actions of others.

None of you had to go back through over 15,100 resumes to find everyone that he submitted. None of you had to take them off line. None of you had to go through every single line and rephrase them. Then proofread and spell check them after we had done that the first time.

We did not ask anyone to help us but still Weiland, Ratman, Howdy and Whitestprocker volunteered to help out.

But then you get IHATEU who boasted it was a 5 minute job per resume.   Well with her best effort it took her 15 minutes to completely mangle 1/3 of a resume. She of course gave up because her capability is to pretend she could do things better. However when issued her own challenge she naturally failed miserably.  But lets say we could actually have completed the rephrasing in 15 minutes per resume.  [Naked Gun moment - we could actually have completed the rephrasing in 15 minutes per resume.] That times the 80 resumes had to be redone is 20 hours of needless work.

No one likes to redo work they already did.

We did not put up this site to rephrase plagiarists work. Three time we say DO NOT PLAGIARIZE in HOW TO WRITE A RESUME. All resume writers are required to read and abide by those rules. It is unreal that someone over 7 years old has to be told not to plagiarize. It is an embarrassment that we had to put that in the rules because of a former writer/plagiarist Tim Howard.

The fact is that plagiarism in college gets you expelled, in the real world it is a copyright violation. It is illegal, worse it is immoral.

I didn't mean 5 minutes a resume, I meant 5 minutes to rephrase a phrase. I know it takes a long time to write/re-write resumes. And I never was targeting Team Annoy, who I sympathize with in the experience of plagaristic assholes. I was targeting Jack Magic for being lazy and not rephrasing things.
