What Song Defines Which Music Artist(s)?
So what song do YOU believe most defines a given musician. I'll start with Led Zeppelin. My favorite Zep tune is 'Kashmir,' but I think most people would ID their signature song as 'Stairway To Heaven.' And to further embelish, thier highest charting single (in the U.S.) was 'Whole Lotta Love.' So my choice is STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN I'll start this off and you folks continue (debate over selections is always welcome), but please make sure you give the next person a music artist so they can give their take on said artist's 'signature song.' Here we go: PEARL JAM

Dancing Queen. It was their lone #1 hit in the United States, it's been covered by several artists, it was featured in the film 'Muriel's Wedding and it's a disco classic. Prince

I'm going to pick 'Old Time Rock & Roll.' The scene in 'Risky Business' helped put that song on the pop culture map, and in a far less annoying way than all of those "pre-John Mellencamp Our Country" 'Like A Rock' auto commercials. Whitney Houston

This was a tough one Diva because Whitney has a slew of 'defining moment' songs, so I'm going with the first one that popped into my head when I saw her name - 'Saving All My Love For You.' Alanis Morissette

'You Oughta Know.' Her album 'Jagged Little Pill' was absolutely huge when I was in high school, and out of all of the hit songs on that album, I think 'You Oughta Know' is the one that stood out the most. It was filled with angst not normally seen from a female artist, and generated pop culture discussion as people speculated who the song was written about. Bruce Springsteen

When I think of Fleetwood Mac, I think about 'Don't Stop.' President Clinton used it as his campaign song, solidifying its place in the pop culture landscape. Chicago
