Hey all,

If you are aware of any profiles which currently have incorrect occupation/professions listed for the profile subject, please post the correct occupation/professions in this thread. The thread will work like the additions, deletions and note corrections threads where an 'OK' will be posted when changes have been made. This thread is NOT for updating information on or re-writing existing profiles.

As far as the format goes, just list the profile ID number and what the correct occupation should be....
Profile ID Number, Correct Occupation

Thanks!

Diva,

I have a request.

When I wrote the profile for 'Dr. Hook' (14373), I SPECIFICALLY wrote 'Dr. Hook,' NOT 'Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show.'

The group changed their name early in their career, as I mentioned in the profile.

Team Annoy CHANGED it to 'Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show,' which makes the statement in the profile look errornious and redundant.

Is there any way you can change the title of the profile BACK to 'Dr. Hook?'

Thanx.

OK

I took care of the above changes and changed the name on the Dr. Hook profile.

This is one of the things I hadn't considered when I came up with the idea to do occupation corrections, so for future reference...

My intention was to fix occupations which were completely off-base, such as political commentator Stephanie Miller being listed as a comedian, or professional wrestler Pedro Morales being listed as a sportscaster. I appreciate a difference between vocalist & musician, but, going down that road might require hundreds of changes, which would be quite time consuming. The exception is profiles where a singular occupation needs to be changed to the plural (as was the case for Firefall and PM Dawn). Actor & comedian is also another road I'd rather not venture down, since there are a number of celebrities who could be listed as equally as an actor or as a comedian.

The focus is on occupations which are completely wrong, not so much ones that are down the same road (if that makes sense). Next time, I'll have to think my ideas through more thoroughly before I make them public (a diva deserves a learning curve, right?).

[I'm not 100% sold on bureaucrat as the right category, but I'm 110% sure 'Musicians' is wrong]

OK

Mary Fields was tough to find an occupation for, as none of the options seemed to fit the information on the profile. I selected slave simply because she was born into slavery and lived her early life as a slave; but that occupation ignores her life as a postal worker. Maybe I can figure out a way to create an occupation called 'Hellraiser'....

Lacrosse player is not listed as one of the occupation options.
